Antique Georgian painted red brick dolls house manufactured circa 1830
Owner’s comments:
This is a small 2 storey, painted brick dream house. It is only 13 Inches wide and 25 Inches tall excluding the chimney. The rooms are 12 inches across the front and 9 inches deep. I cannot date it exactly but my feeling is 1830. I am unable to say where this house was built but I purchased it in USA. It is a one of a kind vs a manufactured house. The window above the front door and the window in the very top gable are both darling etched pieces of glass. The paper on the ground floor came out of an 18th century castle in Italy. This room is the kitchen run by a Grodnertal and a China head doll. The China head doll is seated in an early quill chair. The top floor is my Westacre room. The bed is draped in Westacre linens, the hand painted and detailed secretaire is full of books, the red bookcase is also full of books, the comfy sofa doesn’t have any dolls to keep it warm, and the cabinet at the foot of the bed is a rare piece. Lulu, the China head doll thinks the room is a little too fancy for her. She is a small 4 1/2 inch doll from 1860 in an original silk dress.
