Antique German Moritz Gottschalk Blue Roof Dolls House circa 1890.
Owners comments:
[Originally] covered in painted pebble dash. Not a scrap of original paint or papers apart from the imprint of one interior paper left on one wall and a tiny bit of blue on the roof. It was as though it had been in an acid bath and then repainted.
A very sad sight but I knew it was special. I could have left it as it was but couldn’t live with it like that so decided to restore it back to as near I could to when it was made. It was difficult as I had no pictures of the particular model. Luckily I knew someone who had a couple of exterior pictures of one in the USA. Not the best of pictures but helpful. She also had details of the colours used.
The last picture is when it arrived and the next to last is the imprint of the original paper on the wall.
