An antique dolls house named ‘Dolly Dean’ manufactured in 1928. The house is affixed to its original wooden stand on castors.

Acquired directly from the owner’s daughter in 2022. She writes –
‘The doll’s house was made by William Hughes (my great grandfather) in 1928 for his granddaughter, Kit Hughes, for her 6th birthday. He put the number 6 on the door because of this.
He was a builder. Very talented and artistic, making a dolls cot and a welsh dresser for her too. Kit is my mother, who was born in 1922 and is now 100. She had a birthday card from the Queen in the summer [of 2022]. She loved the doll’s house as a child growing up in Edmonton [London]. My sister and I played with it at our own grandmother’s house in the 1960s. We decorated it and bought new furniture. It has lived at my house since my mother went into a care home. It has great sentimental value.’
